We are proud to announce that Mike Minogue has joined IMC LLC, bringing with him a distinguished career in maritime claims handling and regulatory compliance.

Mike is a Kings Point graduate with dual deck and engine licenses. His seagoing career included sailing with American Export Lines on general cargo vessels as a 3^rd engineer and Crowley Maritime as a mate on their tugs in Alaska. He later came ashore to serve as Port Captain for NYK Lines, overseeing vessel operations, cargo stowage, regulatory compliance, and stevedore coordination for their container vessels serving the East Coasts of the US and Canada.

From 1980 to 2009, Mike was a key figure at Lamorte Burns, managing main high-profile P&I and H&M casualty cases including:

• Summit Venture – Sunshine Skyway Bridge collapse

• Texaco North Dakota – struck gas platform under construction

• A. Regina – Grounding and salvage of a passenger/car ferry off Puerto Rico

• Albinoni – Explosion and total loss of a tanker off the Dominican Republic

  
  

Mike also founded Environmental Crisis Management, the forerunner to ECM Maritime Services LLC, and served as ECM’s CEO. Under his leadership, ECM became a full-service provider of regulatory compliance solutions under OPA 90, offering Qualified Individual (QI) services, Spill Management Team support, Vessel Response Planning, inspection services, and court-appointed ECP monitoring.

In October of 2025, Mike will receive The Outstanding Professional Achievement Award from the USMMA Alumni Association recognizing his career in all aspects of the merchant marine industry.

Mike and David Smith—former colleagues at Lamorte Burns—are thrilled to reunite and once again combine their deep expertise in P&I and H&M claims. Their decades of experience, along with the support of IMC’s outstanding team, will further strengthen our ability to serve clients with professionalism, responsiveness, and excellence.
