Message from the President
I founded Independent Maritime Consulting, LLC (IMC) in 1998 with a vision of building an independent marine survey/technical consulting and commercial claims consulting business staffed by mariners with significant deck and engine seagoing experience, augmented by many years of working in shore-based positions in different segments of the maritime industry. This is signified by the IMC company logo, with its distinctive images of a ship’s propeller and a sextant. Whoever said “oil and water” do not mix? It does within IMC!
After over two decades of service to nearly every segment of the shipping community, IMC’s team has grown to include over 30 professionals located close to key ports areas within the USA, Canada, Brazil and Argentina. Although our core business continues to be in providing marine survey and commercial claims consulting services, we have significantly expanded our service offerings. This expansion has been fueled by a diversification strategy where new professionals with varying specialties are brought aboard to broaden our capabilities.
