Beginning in the picturesque village of Southport in Connecticut, Independent Maritime Consulting (IMC) was established in 1998 by its current President, David Smith.

 

IMC’s mission was to provide superior quality services to the maritime community, with founding principles grounded in service excellence, reliability and integrity. IMC continues to deliver on our mission.

 

As our name implies, we value our independence and understand that our success depends upon our sensitivity and responsiveness to our clients’ needs.

 

Our established reputations and ability to consistently deliver the high quality work our clients have come to expect are the hallmarks of our service.

In 2020, IMC have moved its headquarters to Pompano Beach Florida, where two of the company's partners now reside. Our Southport office remains open, but with much of our business conducted in the southern portion of the United States, it made sense to relocate our headquarters.

We look forward to the opportunities the future holds, but we will never forget where we began.
