    ‣ Graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) with a Dual License (3rd Mate Unlimited & 3rd Asst. Engineer, Steam and Motor unlimited). Sailed under both licenses for American Export Line and Crowley Maritime

    ‣ Founded ECM Maritime Services, LLC (ECM) in 1993 providing Qualified Individual (QI), Spill Management Team (SMT) and vessel response plan (VRP) services under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90). Served as ECM’s CEO/President from 1990 to June 2023 growing the Company servicing over 4,000 vessels from around the world.

    ‣ Former Vice President of Lamorte Burns & Co. managing Hull & Machinery (H&M) and Protection & Indemnity (P&I) claims for H&M insurers/P&I Clubs. Involved in a number of high profile claims and cases involving, vessel explosions, groundings, collisions, cargo losses/damages as well as serious injuries and deaths.

    ‣ Former Port Captain for NYK Lines (1977-1980) in charge of their five (5) lines of container consortium vessels. Arranged cargo loading, discharge and stowage plans, ship stability calculations, stevedore contracts, arranging pilots, tugs, line handlers and stevedores, voyage planning as well as tracking allotments for each lines containers.
