Steve Carlson Joins IMC!




The IMC team are very excited to announce that Seattle based naval engineer Steve Carlson, Captain U.S. Coast Guard (retired) joined the IMC team on March 1, 2022.


Steve brings a broad background of maritime experience in vessel/fleet maintenance and repair systems and management, vessel acquisition management, process improvement and standardization, regulatory compliance, as well as safety management system development and review.


After a 24-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard culminating in leading the entire Coast Guard Naval Engineering program, he has held diverse executive roles in commercial maritime companies for the past 16 years. He has led the engineering departments for a tug and barge company moving deck cargo and for another tug and barge company moving petroleum products throughout the U.S. He has also led the engineering team for a boat building company, improving their design and documentation cycle time, and significantly reducing production rework due to engineering.


Steve has a MSE in Mechanical Engineering and MSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, BSE in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, as well as an Executive Development Program Certificate from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Washington.


Steve will be supporting customers in both the Compliance and Technical Services areas of IMC.
